CUET PG 2027 Exam Date: Official Calendar

NTA published a revised calendar of its major exams on October 26, 2026, replacing an earlier version released in September. According to the revised calendar, the proposed CUET PG 2027 exam date schedule is:

MonthProposed exam days
March 20272, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 29, 30 and 31

That is 17 exam days in total, in computer-based test (CBT) mode. NTA has said the dates are tentative and can change. Subject-wise dates will be announced later through the date sheet, and your exact date and shift will appear in the advance city intimation slip and admit card.

Some websites still show an older version of the CUET PG 2027 exam date list from the September calendar (for example, starting on March 1 with buffer dates at the end of the month). Always go by the latest notice on the NTA website.

When Will CUET PG 2027 Registration Start?

NTA has not yet announced the registration dates. For the 2026 cycle, registration opened on December 14, 2025, and the deadline was later extended to January 23, 2026. If NTA follows a similar timeline, CUET PG 2027 registration may open in mid-December 2026 and close in January 2027.

Because the CUET PG 2027 exam date window starts on March 2, NTA needs to close registration, correction and city allotment by February. So the application window may be shorter than you expect. Keep your documents ready from early December.

Who Can Apply? CUET PG 2027 Eligibility

There is no age limit for CUET PG. The basic requirement is a bachelor’s degree, or being in the final year of a bachelor’s degree, in a relevant subject. However, the exact eligibility depends on the university and programme you apply for. For example:

  • An M.Sc Physics programme may require a B.Sc with Physics and Mathematics with a minimum percentage.
  • An MA English programme may accept graduates from any stream with a certain percentage, or only those with English as a subject.
  • An MBA or MCA programme may have its own rules on subjects and marks.

Before you choose test papers, read the eligibility rules of each university and programme you want. NTA’s information bulletin will link to participating universities’ requirements.

Exam Pattern

Based on the pattern followed in recent CUET PG cycles, the exam is expected to follow this format. Confirm with the CUET PG 2027 information bulletin once released.

  • Mode: Computer Based Test
  • Questions: 75 multiple choice questions per test paper
  • Total marks: 300
  • Duration: 90 minutes per paper
  • Marking: +4 for a correct answer, -1 for a wrong answer, 0 for unattempted
  • Medium: English and Hindi (except language papers)

Candidates can usually choose multiple test papers depending on the programmes they apply for, with separate fees per paper. In the 2026 cycle, CUET PG covered 157 subjects. The final list for 2027 will come in the bulletin.

Participating Universities

CUET PG scores are used by central universities and many state, deemed and private universities. Central universities include Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Banaras Hindu University, University of Hyderabad, Pondicherry University, Central University of Tamil Nadu and the Central University of Kerala in Kasaragod, among others. For Kerala students, the Central University of Kerala is a popular choice, and many also apply to universities in Delhi, Hyderabad and Puducherry.

Each university releases its own admission notice after the result, with separate registration on its portal. The CUET PG 2027 exam date is only the first step; you must also apply to each university when their admission portals open.

How to Prepare: A 4-Month Plan Before the CUET PG 2027 Exam Date

You have roughly four months before the CUET PG 2027 exam date window opens. Most aspirants are also in their final year of graduation, so a balanced plan is essential.

November 2026: Know your papers

  • Shortlist universities and programmes.
  • Identify the test paper codes you need.
  • Download the syllabus for each paper from the NTA website (use last year’s until the new one is out).
  • Collect previous year question papers.

December 2026: Build the base

  • Revise core subjects from your degree syllabus, focusing on topics in the CUET PG syllabus.
  • Complete registration as soon as it opens.
  • Start one sectional test per week.

January 2027: Practice

  • Take a full-length mock test every week.
  • Analyse mistakes and revise weak topics.
  • Balance semester exams and preparation.

February 2027: Final revision

  • Take two mock tests every week under exam conditions.
  • Revise short notes and important facts.
  • Download the city intimation slip and plan travel well before the CUET PG 2027 exam date.

Best Tips for CUET PG Success

  1. Focus on your subject’s core concepts. Domain papers test the depth of your undergraduate knowledge.
  2. Practise previous papers. Many questions follow similar patterns year to year.
  3. Watch negative marking. With -1 for wrong answers, avoid blind guesses.
  4. Use the CBT format in practice. Practise on screen to get used to scrolling, marking for review and time tracking.
  5. Apply to more than one programme where possible. This increases your chances of admission.
  6. Keep checking university notices. After the result, each university has its own admission timeline.

CUET PG 2027 Exam Date and Semester Exams

For many final-year students in Kerala universities (Kerala, Calicut, MG, Kannur and others), the CUET PG 2027 exam date window in March can overlap with internal assessments or semester exam schedules. If your exam date clashes with a university exam, check whether NTA allows a change of date for valid reasons, and inform your college early. Usually, NTA does not change dates for individual candidates, so plan around the slot you receive.

Exam City Choice for Kerala Students

During registration, you can choose exam cities. Kerala usually has multiple CUET PG centres, such as Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod. Choose cities close to home. If you are studying outside Kerala, you can choose a city near your college instead. The city intimation slip, released ahead of the CUET PG 2027 exam date, will confirm your allotted city.

After the Result: University Admission Process

Clearing CUET PG is not the same as getting admission. After the result, the process continues at each university.

  1. Check participating universities: Look at which universities accept your test paper score for your chosen programme.
  2. Register on university portals: Each university opens its own PG admission portal with separate deadlines and fees.
  3. Merit lists: Universities publish merit lists based on CUET PG scores and their own rules (some add interviews or other criteria).
  4. Document verification and fee payment: Selected candidates verify documents and pay fees to confirm seats.

Students often miss university deadlines because they wait for the “final” list from NTA. Remember that NTA only gives scores. After the CUET PG 2027 exam date and result, you must actively apply to each university.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Choosing the wrong test paper code for your programme
  • Applying without checking the programme’s eligibility rules
  • Uploading blurred photos or wrong documents
  • Ignoring the correction window
  • Not downloading the city slip and admit card in time before the CUET PG 2027 exam date
  • Missing university-level registration after the result

Understanding Test Papers and Syllabus

CUET PG test papers are mostly domain-specific. This means the questions test your knowledge of the subject you studied in your undergraduate degree. For example, the Chemistry paper covers physical, organic and inorganic chemistry at the B.Sc level, while the Economics paper covers microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics and Indian economy at the BA level.

Some programmes use a general or common paper that tests language comprehension, general awareness, mathematical ability and analytical reasoning. Programmes like MBA, MCA or some interdisciplinary courses may use such papers. Check the paper code mapping for each programme in the university’s notice.

The syllabus for each test paper is published on the NTA website. Until the 2027 syllabus is released, use the 2026 syllabus, as changes are usually small. Plan your study so that you complete one full round of the syllabus well before the CUET PG 2027 exam date window opens, leaving February for mock tests and revision.

Popular PG Programmes Through CUET PG

  • MA: English, Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Malayalam and other languages
  • M.Sc: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Environmental Science
  • M.Com and MBA: Commerce, finance and management programmes
  • MCA: Computer applications
  • LLM and other law programmes: At universities that use CUET PG for law
  • M.Ed, MSW, M.Lib.I.Sc and professional programmes: At selected universities

Popular programmes at top central universities have high competition, so aim for strong scores. Applying to a mix of highly competitive and moderately competitive universities improves your chances.

How Many Papers Should You Choose?

NTA usually allows candidates to choose more than one test paper, with additional fees for each extra paper. Choose papers based on the programmes you are serious about, not just to increase numbers. Each extra paper takes preparation time and may fall on a different day in the CUET PG 2027 exam date window, which means more travel and more exam days. Two or three well-chosen papers are often better than many poorly prepared ones.

Scholarships for PG Students

After admission, PG students can look at scholarships such as university fellowships, state government scholarships, and central schemes on the National Scholarship Portal. Students from eligible communities in Kerala can also check the e-Grantz Scholarship 2026-27. If you need a loan for a PG course at a top-ranked institution, read our guide to the PM Vidyalaxmi Scheme.

Exam Day Checklist

On the CUET PG 2027 exam date allotted to you, a calm and well-planned morning makes a big difference. Use this checklist:

  • Printed admit card with the self-declaration filled in, if required
  • Original valid photo ID (Aadhaar, passport, PAN, voter ID or driving licence)
  • An extra passport-size photo, if asked in the admit card instructions
  • Transparent water bottle and simple ballpoint pen, if allowed
  • Reach the centre at least 60 to 90 minutes before the reporting time
  • Leave mobile phones, smart watches and bags at home or at the designated place

Since there are 17 days in the CUET PG 2027 exam date window and multiple shifts per day, check your own date, shift and reporting time carefully on the admit card. Do not rely on a friend’s schedule, as each candidate may have a different slot.

What If You Miss the CUET PG 2027 Exam Date?

NTA does not usually hold re-tests for candidates who miss their slot for personal reasons. If you miss the exam because of a genuine emergency, contact NTA immediately through the helpline and email given in the bulletin, but be aware that a re-test is not guaranteed. The best approach is to plan travel early, keep a buffer of time on exam day, and check the CUET PG 2027 exam date and centre details two or three times before the day.

Balancing Work and Preparation

Some CUET PG aspirants are working graduates who want to return to study. If you are working, set aside one to two hours on weekdays and longer sessions on weekends. Focus on previous papers and mock tests rather than reading entire textbooks again. Short, regular study sessions over four months are more effective than trying to cram everything in the last few weeks. Inform your employer early if you may need leave for travel to the exam centre.

Final Word

With the CUET PG 2027 exam date window now set for March 2027, final-year students have about four months to prepare. Shortlist your universities, keep your documents ready for the December registration, and start regular practice now. We will update this page when NTA releases the information bulletin and subject-wise dates. Follow our Entrance Exams and University News sections for more updates.
